What is Paddle Board Yoga?
If you are into fitness then you’ve probably done a little yoga in your day. Paddleboard yoga is yoga done on a paddle board. It focuses on balance and mindfulness as you do yoga on a moving, unstable surface. It elevates the fitness part of yoga because you engage muscles that aren’t normally used on stable ground. You must move fluid and strongly to do yoga on a paddle board and it’s a good way to improve your form and technique.
Paddleboard yoga can be done at every level and you don’t need to be an expert to start. The best part is you can use the paddle board for more than just yoga. They are great for enjoying a day on the water and inflatable yoga paddle boards can fit in any size of vehicle and be stored almost anywhere.
Yoga paddle boards are wider and more stable than standard boards and are excellent for beginner paddle boarders. I’ve found some of the most stable inflatable paddle boards on the market today that will get you becoming one with your inner self and nature before you know it.

Yoga Paddle Board Reviews and Info
Retrospec makes the most stable and durable yoga paddle board out there. It’s one of the widest paddle boards you can buy and has more PVC layers than your average ISUP. It’s pretty much the ultimate paddle board for not ony yoga but for other activities as well.
The Weekender Yogi is 10 feet long which is a good length for paddling and yoga. It’s 35 inches wide which blows all the other inflatable paddle boards out of the water as far as width and stability for yoga. If you are new to paddle boarding this is a fantastic option even if you don’t do yoga.
The weight limit is high at 275 lbs so bringing along a child or dog is going to be no problem. There are 3 PVC layers for ultimate durability. You won’t need to worry about bumping into rocks while doing a pose and this yoga paddle board is going to be able to withstand being inflated and deflated daily.
The foam footpad on a yoga paddle board is almost as important as the width. It needs to cover almost all of the board and be a perfect replacement for your yoga mat back on land. It also needs to be soft enough for your bare hands and feet but stiff enough to balance on. Retrospec has you covered in all these areas with their smooth, extra-long, no-slip EVA footpad that covers almost the entire area of the SUP’s deck.
If you need a place to store your phone, water bottle, and keys safely this inflatable paddle board has the perfect amount of storage area to not be in your way while doing yoga but still make everything you need easily accessible. You can keep everything secured on your inflatable yoga paddle board by using the small 4 D-ring bungee system on the nose of the SUP.
There is also a D-ring on the tail to clip an ankle leash to and a carry handle on the middle and tail for easy transport. There is also an extra-long handle on the right side of the deck to grab onto when you are doing a pose or when you are in the water and need a fast easy way to get a secure grip on the ISUP.
The fin system is the new standard 2+1. That means there are 2 small removable stabilizer fins and a long removable center fin. Fin systems like this one are great for keeping your board headed straight on choppy water like the ocean.
Included with the inflatable yoga paddle board is a portable 3 piece aluminum paddle, a fast dual-action hand pump, a waterproof phone bag, and a high-quality bag/backpack with multiple pockets to fit the board and all its accessories.
The Retrospec Weekender Yogi ISUP is an amazing yoga paddle board. It has the width for stability and space to do poses on as well as the ultra-durability of 3 PVC layers. It’s a fantastic beginner paddle board that it light and easy to store and carry.
- 3 PVC Layers
- Extra Wide
- Full-Length Footpad
- High-Quality Bag/Backpack
- Dual-Action Hand Pump
Peak is another awesome paddle board company that makes an inflatable paddle board specifically for yoga. It’s wide with a flat tail for maximum stability and it’s great for everyday use and multiple paddle boarding activities.
The Peak Yoga is 10 feet long and 32 inches wide. It’s not as wide as other yoga paddle boards but the tail is flat and long which helps a lot with stability when doing yoga poses. The weight limit is 275 lbs.
It’s made with 2 layers of PVC which is becoming more common on high-quality paddle boards because it makes the board very durable but also keeps it light. Lighter paddle boards are easier to carry long distances which comes in handy when you are trekking from the parking lot to the beach.
The EVA foam pad covers about 75% of the deck which is maybe not quite as good as other yoga paddle boards but it’s at least 7 feet long which is enough space to lay on and do poses. The nice thing about the Peak Yoga is the 4 D-ring bungee storage system is located at the end of the foam pad on the nose so it won’t get in the way at all.

There’s a D-ring on the tail to secure an ankle leash to and there is a handle located in the center and the nose of the yoga SUP. They use only one long removable fin which is excellent for flat water like lakes and is perfect for yoga because paddle board yoga is mostly done on calm waters.
When you buy a peak SUP you get their fantastic paddle board package which includes a 3 piece aluminum paddle that floats, a backpack/storage bag that has a water bottle pocket on the side, a coil ankle leash (which is a necessity for paddle board yoga because you will fall off the board), a dual-action hand pump, and a waterproof phone bag.
The Peak Yoga Inflatable Paddleboard is going to be fantastic for someone who wants a paddle board for cruising around a lake as well as yoga. It may be a little difficult for beginner yogis and paddle boarders to get used to the Peak Yoga but if you are willing to put in the practice this will end up being an excellent choice.
- Wide Stable Tail
- Good Width for Yoga & Paddling
- Bungee Storage Not on Footpad
- Dual-Action Hand Pump
The Scout inflatable yoga SUP is Isle’s version of a ultra stable inflatable paddle board with an extra large footpad for yoga.
The ISUP is 10 feet 6 inches long and 31 inches wide. It’s a little more narrow than other yoga paddle boards but it’s got good length and a flat wide tail for stability. I would call the Isle Scout a yoga/ all-around paddle board because of its width. This is an ISUP you can use for fitness paddling around a lake and then stop to do yoga on.
Because of the narrowness, this may not be a good option for absolute beginners at yoga but it will be a better workout and balance practice for more advanced yogis. The footpad is what makes the Scout a fantastic yoga paddle board. It’s very long and covers almost the entire deck. It has multiple textures on it. The front portion is textured for foot grip while the back portion is smooth and soft for standing and keeping the items under the bungee system in place.
Speaking of the bungee system unlike other paddle boards it’s located in the back portion of the deck. It’s small and still only uses 4 D-rings but it’s got enough room for a water bottle and a dry bag. There is a D-ring on the tail for an ankle leash and there’s a handle in the center and the nose. The weight capacity is 240 lbs.
Because it’s long and used for paddling on still water the Isle inflatable yoga paddle board has one removable center fin which creates less drag and allows you to go faster with fewer paddles. The board is made with dual-layered PVC that is manufactured using “Airtech Fusion Lite” which is a mechanical method of bonding the PVC layers of a paddle board together to create a perfect, wrinkle-free deck.
Included with the yoga SUP is Isle’s signature paddle board package which includes: a storage bag/backpack with a side pocket for a water bottle, a 3 piece carbon paddle (very high quality), a dual-action pump, an 8-foot coil ankle leash, and a repair kit. It’s got everything you need for paddle board yoga.
The Isle Scout Inflatable Yoga SUP is great for intermediate yogis and people who want a great all-around board with a large foam pad for bringing along dogs or children. It’s durable and can withstand daily use as well as being easy to store and lightweight.
- All-around/ Yoga Paddleboard
- Includes High-End Carbon Shaft Paddle
- Dual-Action Pump
- Extra Large Footpad
Boga is a company that has taken SUP yoga and turned it into an entire fitness world. The have opened thier own “float studios” and have a lot of different versions of inflatable boards for different fitness activities. Their Boga Yoga inflatable SUP is a popular choice for paddle board yoga studios and a great choice for doing paddle board yoga in a pool.
The Boga yoga SUP is 10 feet 8 inches long and 32 inches wide. It’s a little different than the yoga paddle boards most other companies make and it looks more like an all-around SUP. It’s made with a single layer of PVC which is less durable than other inflatable paddle boards but it means it’s lighter and often more affordable.
There’s a lot of storage on the Boga yoga, there is a 6 link bungee system in the nose using fabric straps instead of D-rings. There is a D-ring of the tail for an ankle leash and handles on the tail, center, and nose. There is a single, long, removable center fin for easy tracking through flat water.
The footpad is patterned but only covers about 60% of the board. It’s still quite long because the paddle board is longer than most yoga SUP’s.
Included with the Boga paddle board are a storage bag/backpack, adjustable paddle, a single-action hand pump, and a coil ankle leash.
The Boga Yoga Inflatable SUP is an affordable all-around ISUP that can also be used by intermediate yogis for yoga. It’s a cool looking ISUP especially for the affordability of it. If you are a fan of Boga this is going to be a decent paddle board, especially for indoor pool paddle board yoga.
- Large Storage
Driftsun makes one of the best yoga paddle boards for a number of reasons. The first being the fact that it’s 34 inches wide throughout almost the entire board. Some paddle board companies boast their ultra wide boards but they have an egg shape and are only that wide for 10% of the paddle board.
The second reason is the board is 11 feet long and combined with the extra width it has a weight limit of 400 lbs. This means you can have two average-sized adults on this paddle board comfortably. There aren’t many inflatable paddle boards this size that can fit two adults without sitting very low if not underwater.
On top of all that the EVA foam footpad is smooth, comfortable, gives your feet excellent grip, and covers at least 9 feet of the board. The 4 D-ring bungee system sits on the nose and doesn’t impede the footpad at all, giving you more area to do poses and move on the paddle board.
The yoga paddle board is made using MLS drop stitch technology with military-grade PVC. It may be only single-layered but the Driftsun can take a beating. It’s going to perfect for paddle board yoga, and it’s very lightweight especially for its size. There is a D-ring on the tail for an ankle leash plus 4 more D-rings in case you need additional storage. Bringing along a small cooler with snacks and drinks can make a day at the lake even more enjoyable.
Included with the inflatable yoga paddle board is a 3 piece aluminum paddle, a storage backpack with wheels, a coil leash, and a dual-action pump.
TheDriftsun Extra Wide ISUP has everything you need for the ultimate yoga paddle board. It’s very wide and there’s a ton of deck space. You can easily bring another person or even a dog along with no issues. It’s going to be a fantastic all-around board for paddling around the lake (especially for beginners) and a stable platform for advanced yoga poses.
- Entire SUP is Wide
- Dual-Action Pump
- Storage Bag has Wheels
- Huge Footpad
The Pro 6 Yoga ISUP is a very uniqe inflatable paddle board that is 100% dedicated to paddle board yoga. The entire deck is coverd in soft EVA foam so no matter where you fall or need some extra grip this board will have your back.
While it may not look it the yoga paddle board is 10 feet 6 inches long and 35 inches wide. The hull shape and tail shape are identical for a very smooth organic look. There is a handle on the tail and nose as well as two on each side.
The weight limit is 308 lbs. There is a 2+1 fin set up on the bottom. Which means there are two non-removable small stabilizer fins and a removable long center fin. This set up is great for control over the board when paddling on rough waters or rivers.
No bungee system comes pre-installed but 3 D-rings form a triangle on the nose and tail and a bungee is included with purchase if you want to install one yourself. It’s a great idea to give you that option since a lot of yoga paddlers don’t use the bungee storage.
Included with the yoga paddle board are an adjustable paddle, a single-action pump, and a storage bag/backpack.
The Pro 6 Yoga Inflatable SUP is the perfect option for the dedicated paddle boarding yogi. It’s got the perfect width for all skill levels and it’s even fantastic for beginner paddle boarders or children. A full deck footpad is a unique option that is perfect for paddle board yoga.
- Footpad Covers Entire Deck
- No Bungee System Pre-Installed
- Extra Wide
- Smooth Symmetrical Shape
As far as paddle board yoga is concerned the Driftsun is by far one of the best SUP’s out there. It’s ultra-wide, has a huge footpad, and it can be used as a double person ISUP. It’s also going to be great for everyday use just paddling around the lake.
The only drawback is the single-layered PVC which isn’t going to be a problem for yoga and single-layered inflatable paddle boards are still incredibly durable. The Driftsun should have no problem holding up to regular use.
If you want an inflatable yoga paddle board with more PVC layers the Retrospec Weekender Yogi ISUP is another fantastic option. The reason the Weekender Yogi is not my top pick is the Driftsun has a better square shape for more stability when doing poses and it has a high weight limit. But the Weekender is a close second.
