What is Paddle Board Yoga?
If you are into fitness then you’ve probably done a little yoga in your day.
Paddleboard yoga is yoga done on a paddle board. It focuses on balance and mindfulness as you do yoga on a moving, unstable surface.
It elevates the fitness part of yoga because you engage muscles that aren’t normally used on stable ground. You must move fluid and strongly to do yoga on a paddle board and it’s a good way to improve your form and technique.
Paddleboard yoga can be done at every level and you don’t need to be an expert to start.
The best part is you can use the paddle board for more than just yoga. They are great for enjoying a day on the water and inflatable yoga paddle boards can fit in any size of vehicle and be stored almost anywhere.
Yoga paddle boards are wider and more stable than standard boards and are excellent for beginner paddle boarders.
I’ve found some of the most stable inflatable paddle boards on the market today that will get you becoming one with your inner self and nature before you know it.

Yoga Paddle Board Reviews & Info
Peak is an awesome paddle board company that makes an inflatable paddle board specifically for yoga. It’s wide with a flat tail for maximum stability and it’s great for everyday use and multiple paddle boarding activities.
The Peak Yoga is 10 feet long and 32 inches wide. It’s not as wide as other yoga paddle boards but the tail is flat and long which helps a lot with stability when doing yoga poses.
The weight limit is 275 lbs.
It’s made with 2 layers of PVC which is becoming more common on high-quality paddle boards because it makes the board very durable but also keeps it light.
Lighter paddle boards are easier to carry long distances which comes in handy when you are trekking from the parking lot to the beach.
The EVA foam pad covers about 75% of the deck which is maybe not quite as good as other yoga paddle boards but it’s at least 7 feet long which is enough space to lay on and do poses.
The nice thing about the Peak Yoga is the 4 D-ring bungee storage system is located at the end of the foam pad on the nose so it won’t get in the way at all.

There’s a D-ring on the tail to secure an ankle leash to and there is a handle located in the center and the nose of the yoga SUP.
They use only one long removable fin which is excellent for flat water like lakes and is perfect for yoga because paddle board yoga is mostly done on calm waters.
When you buy a peak SUP you get its fantastic paddle board package which includes a 3 piece aluminum paddle that floats, a backpack/storage bag that has a water bottle pocket on the side, a coil ankle leash (which is a necessity for paddle board yoga because you will fall off the board), a dual-action hand pump, and a waterproof phone bag.
The Peak Yoga Inflatable Paddleboard is going to be fantastic for someone who wants a paddle board for cruising around a lake as well as yoga.
It may be a little difficult for beginner yogis and paddle boarders to get used to the Peak Yoga ISUP but if you are willing to put in the practice this will end up being an excellent choice.
- Wide Stable Tail
- Good Width for Yoga & Paddling
- Bungee Storage Not on Footpad
- Dual-Action Hand Pump
The Scout inflatable yoga SUP is Isle’s version of a ultra stable inflatable paddle board with an extra large footpad for yoga.
The ISUP is 10 feet 6 inches long and 31 inches wide. It’s a little more narrow than other yoga paddle boards but it’s got good length and a flat wide tail for stability.
I would call the Isle Scout a yoga/all-around paddle board because of its width. This is an ISUP you can use for fitness paddling around a lake and then stop to do yoga on.
Because of the narrowness, this may not be a good option for absolute beginners at yoga but it will be a better workout and balance practice for more advanced yogis.
The footpad is what makes the Scout a fantastic yoga paddle board. It’s very long and covers almost the entire deck.
It has multiple textures on it. The front portion is textured for foot grip while the back portion is smooth and soft for standing and keeping the items under the bungee system in place.
Speaking of the bungee system unlike other paddle boards it’s located in the back portion of the deck.
It’s small and still only uses 4 D-rings but it’s got enough room for a water bottle and a dry bag. There is a D-ring on the tail for an ankle leash and there’s a handle in the center and the nose.
The weight capacity is 240 lbs.
Because it’s long and used for paddling on still water the Isle inflatable yoga paddle board has one removable center fin which creates less drag and allows you to go faster with fewer paddles.
The board is made with dual-layered PVC that is manufactured using “Airtech Fusion Lite” which is a mechanical method of bonding the PVC layers of a paddle board together to create a perfect, wrinkle-free deck.
Included with the yoga SUP is Isle’s signature paddle board package which includes: a storage bag/backpack with a side pocket for a water bottle, a 3 piece carbon paddle (very high quality), a dual-action pump, an 8-foot coil ankle leash, and a repair kit.
It’s got everything you need for paddle board yoga.
The Isle Scout Inflatable Yoga SUP is great for intermediate yogis and people who want a great all-around board with a large foam pad for bringing along dogs or children.
It’s durable and can withstand daily use as well as being easy to store and lightweight.
- All-around/ Yoga Paddleboard
- Includes High-End Carbon Shaft Paddle
- Dual-Action Pump
- Extra Large Footpad
Driftsun makes one of the best yoga paddle boards for a number of reasons. The first being the fact that it’s 34 inches wide throughout almost the entire board.
Some paddle board companies boast their ultra wide boards but they have an egg shape and are only that wide for 10% of the paddle board.
The second reason is the board is 11 feet long and combined with the extra width it has a weight limit of 400 lbs.
This means you can have two average-sized adults on this paddle board comfortably. There aren’t many inflatable paddle boards this size that can fit two adults without sitting very low if not underwater.
On top of all that the EVA foam footpad is smooth, comfortable, gives your feet excellent grip, and covers at least 9 feet of the board.
The 4 D-ring bungee system sits on the nose and doesn’t impede the footpad at all, giving you more area to do poses and move on the paddle board.
The yoga paddle board is made using MLS drop stitch technology with military-grade PVC.
It may be only single-layered but the Driftsun can take a beating. It’s going to perfect for paddle board yoga, and it’s very lightweight especially for its size.
There is a D-ring on the tail for an ankle leash plus 4 more D-rings in case you need additional storage. Bringing along a small cooler with snacks and drinks can make a day at the lake even more enjoyable.
Included with the inflatable yoga paddle board is a 3 piece aluminum paddle, a storage backpack with wheels, a coil leash, and a dual-action pump.
The Driftsun Extra Wide ISUP has everything you need for the ultimate yoga paddle board.
It’s very wide and there’s a ton of deck space. You can easily bring another person or even a dog along with no issues.
It’s going to be a fantastic all-around board for paddling around the lake (especially for beginners) and a stable platform for advanced yoga poses.
- Entire SUP is Wide
- Dual-Action Pump
- Storage Bag has Wheels
- Huge Footpad
Much like the Driftsun inflatable paddle board reviewed above the Blue Water Toys Premium ISUP is a simple but well made board that is wide enough to be a stable yoga paddle board.
It’s 11 feet long in total and 34 inches wide. Both the nose and tail are wide offering more stability and the EVA footpad covers enough of the deck surface for doing yoga poses.
The thickness is the new standard 6 inches and it has a weight capacity of 350 lbs.
It’s made with two layers of PVC and it’s drop stitched for maximum stiffness when inflated to the maximum of 15 psi.
There is a 4 D-link bungee system on the nose and a D-link on the tail.
There are two stabilizer fins and a long removable main fin.
Included with purchase is an adjustable paddle that can convert into a kayak paddle, a backpack/storage bag, an ankle coil leash, a repair kit, a fin, and a single action high pressure pump with built in pressure gauge.
The thing that makes the Blue Water Toys Premium ISUP perfect for yoga is the extra width and the flat nose and tail.
It’s going to be more stable than a pointed cruiser ISUP and it has a large EVA footpad.
- Large EVA Footpad
- Extra Wide
- High Weight Capacity
- Double Layered PVC
- Convertable Paddle
The NIXY Venice is a high quality premium inflatable yoga paddle board that is not only super stable and extra wide, it also comes with some of the best ISUP accessories available today.
The board is 10 feet 6 inches long and 34 inches wide with a 6 inches thickness.
The weight limit is 350 lbs.
The nose is pointed and made for cruising but the tail is flat and formed for stability.
This is a fantastic all-around inflatable paddle board for both yoga and cruising. The width makes it super stable but the nose helps it cut through the water easier when paddling around.
The NIXY uses a 3 fin set up for stable cruising. All 3 fins are detachable which makes it easier to roll up the board when not in use.
The PVC is dual layered and the EVA footpad covers 90% of the top which is perfect for doing yoga.
There’s a 6 D-link bungee storage system on the tail and 4 D-link bungee system on the nose.
There’s even an accessory mount on the front for holding things like fishing poles and cameras.
Included with the yoga ISUP is an adjustable paddle, 3 fins, a coil ankle leash, a triple action hand pump (fastest ISUP manual pump on the market today), a repair kit, and finally a large storage bag with wheels.
The NIXY Venice Inflatable Paddle Board is an awesome choice in general but it’s especially good for yoga and even fishing.
The stability from the extra width is perfect for doing poses and the 3 fins will help stop the board from doing circles in the water while you are working out.
All-in-all it’s one of the best yoga paddle boards in the review but also the most premium option.
- Super Wide
- High Quality Accessories
- Triple Action Pump
- Extra Large EVA Footpad
- Storage Bag With Wheels
- 3 Removable Fins
My Recommendation For Best Yoga Paddle Board
As far as paddle board yoga is concerned the Driftsun is by far one of the best SUP’s out there.
It’s ultra-wide, has a huge footpad, and it can be used as a double person ISUP. It’s also going to be great for everyday use just paddling around the lake.
The only drawback is the single-layered PVC which isn’t going to be a problem for yoga and single-layered inflatable paddle boards are still incredibly durable.
The Driftsun should have no problem holding up to regular use.

What features do you need on a paddle board to do yoga?
Yoga paddle boards need to have large footpads and be wider than a standard paddle board.
It’s also a good idea to get an inflatable paddle board that doesn’t have a bunch of D-rings all over the main part of the board because they hurt when you fall on them.
If you already have a paddle board you may want to try out a few yoga poses on it before you go out and buy a yoga paddle board.
The main thing is your skill level. Advanced yogis and paddle boarders may have enough skill and balance to do yoga on narrow boards.
What to wear for paddle board yoga?
It really is up to you. You should always expect to get wet when doing paddle board yoga and wearing a swimsuit is an excellent idea.
You can wear your normal yoga clothes if you choose just don’t wear anything you don’t want to be swimming in at some point.
A lot of people do paddle board yoga barefoot but your feet can start to hurt after being softened by the water.
Barefoot yoga water socks (click to view on Amazon) are becoming very popular and they are a great way to keep your feet from hurting while doing yoga on a paddle board.
